Peter has reached another milestone in his practice of personal injury law, as he marks his 20th year in what he now calls “the trenches,” where he tirelessly battles for clients injured by the carelessness of others.

Peter comes to the practice of personal injury law uniquely qualified to be effective. A Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy, several years as a copywriter within the marketing departments of two major publishers, and several years of insurance defense work, combine to give Peter the critical skills and perspective he needs to effectively represent his injury clients — including obtaining 7-figure results.

Peter’s fascination with the Trial of Socrates imparted a life-long interest in using the tools of rhetoric, persuasion, brinkmanship and critical analysis to seek justice, dominate arguments and ultimately win personal injury cases. His years as a copywriter cultivated his talent as a writer and today Peter is considered a top-notch wordsmith who has produced an exceptional track record in winning motions and appeals — and persuading “decision-makers” to do what he asks: be it the courts, defense counsel or insurance adjusters. And Peter has the important perspective of being able to see a case from the defense side of things — having spent years battling personal injury attorneys.

But you’ll never see Peter berating an adversary or banging his fist in court. Instead, Peter believes in the “gentlemen lawyer” concept and relies on his creativity, wit, charm and painstaking preparedness to achieve excellent results for his clients. A skilled and resourceful negotiator, he’s as sharp as they come in presenting clients’ cases to adjusters. These skills also serve him successfully in mediations, arbitrations, and at trial, where a lawyer’s credibility, likability and persuasiveness can mean the difference between victory and defeat.

Peter has a special ability to bond with clients. Indeed, clients have told him that he is like family. The result is cooperation and trust from clients. Clients are at ease with his warm, accessible manner. But don’t mistake his kindness for weakness, for Peter manifests that rare blend of strength and warmth and professionalism that gets top results.

Perhaps what sums up Peter as a lawyer is a compliment from a jury. Incarcerated for an unrelated criminal offense, and on a day-long furlough, his client was led into court in shackles for his own personal injury trial. Peter had to convince the jury to focus on the motor vehicle accident at hand and not consider his client’s criminality. A tall order. When the case ended in Peter’s favor, a group of jurors referred to Peter as the “Preacher Man” — for Peter conducted the trial with the same determination and passion for justice as an inspired preacher.

Peter has tried and/or litigated cases throughout NYC, Upstate New York and New Jersey. He lives in Upstate New York with his wife, young son and dog.
